Math Goals as a Teacher

Math:

I find math challenging still as an adult. My mission is to eliminate that fear in my students. Mathematics shouldn't be a scary subject. Teachers often instill that fear in them by not providing an understanding that we all make mistakes. In many situations, there are more than one solution. The process should be the focus, rather than the correctness of the actual answer. I plan to focus on that, while also incorporating hands-on, visual activities to reach all learners.

The students will...
Have the ability to recognize multiples of 2, multiples of 5, multiples of 10 and even and odd numbers.
Understand place value and be able to represent numbers using base ten blocks.
    Count to 100.

Use number lines and grids to notice patterns.
